2 Essential Exercises To Strengthen Your Lower Back

By Rey Vetangelo

Your body is a pliable machine. It can be pushed forward harder until it becomes bigger and stronger.

One theory is that it is our body's way of recharging from a long day of being active. Our bones, muscles, and minds all work hard during the day to function to their best ability for our benefit.

When the day winds to a close, our bodies feel the need to rest and recharge to get ready for the start of a new day. Another theory is that we are more culturally conditioned and socialized to sleep at night.

People have been sleeping at night for as long as people can remember, so it only seems natural that we continue with the tradition. This theory has received quite a bit of criticism, however.

First, learn to focus on the quality of your movement rather than the quantity. This can be broken down into speed of movement as an example.

This exercise is to create a hip bridge. Lay on your back on the floor.

Slower reps are much more difficult to accomplish. They offer more quality results. Try completing a single push up in the time it would take you to complete 2 normal paced (for you) pushups. Do as many of those as you can.

But something happens while you are asleep that helps you to remember the thing you practiced even better. This process is called consolidation.

Consolidation is your brain's way of holding onto knowledge and skills that it deems important. Studies have also alluded to the fact that sleep helps you to live longer.

These studies have not been able to conclude if sleeping longer is a cause or an effect, but sleep and length of life are definitely linked. Sleep has also been shown to improve one's quality of life.

Although this is great news, your body is being pushed to equalize the use of all muscles. It can't grow together under these conditions to increase overall strength, or physical fitness progression. Change your workouts. Modify the exercises you do to work out the same general muscle groups in new ways.

This one is called bird dog. Start on the ground on all fours (knees on the ground) and make sure your legs and arms are perfectly perpendicular to the ground and that your torso runs parallel to the floor. Your goal is to create a rectangular form with your body. From that position, lift and extend your right leg out while lifting and extending your left arm out in similar fashion.

Muscle groups grow stronger and build up faster. When you underfeed it, your body has fewer resources to rebuild from; you can't build a house with just a hammer and three nails, you need the wood, pipes, wires, and everything else to make it reach its potential. Eat heart-healthy, muscle-building, and bone-fortifying foods often when you consistently exercise. You'll see results and create the best you.

Many people who are not healthy need to get electro surgery in order to reach a positive level of health. If you sleep well, eat a balanced diet, and exercise regularly, you will most likely not have to encounter electro surgery anytime in your life.
